POSITION POSITION DESCRIPTION
 

 

 

EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN

CLOSED

 


The primary objective of the EMT is to provide medical care and transportation to the ill and injured under the guidelines of the local EMS Protocols, policies, Medical Program Director and MCMO Protocols. Maintain vehicles and equipment in a manner that ensures the highest level of care is always possible for patients. Care for patients using a variety of skills and knowledge specific to the areas of responsibility outlined below. Success in this position will require excellent written and verbal communication, as well as the ability to interact with members of the general public, patients, other team members, and providers from other agencies in a professional and likeable manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Washington State EMT Certificate.
  • Valid Washington State Drivers License (WDL).
  • A clean driving record that meets insurability criteria.
  • A background Investigation to include former employment & criminal records check.
  • Successful completion of the required physical abilities evaluation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using proper English in spoken and written form.
  • Ability to convey and understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to safely operate an ambulance during routine and emergent transports after successfully completing a certified Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC).

 

 
 

 

 

PARAMEDIC

The primary objective of the ALS Provider is to provide medical care and transportation to the ill and injured under the guidelines of the local EMS Protocols, policies, Medical Program Director and MCMO Protocols.  Maintain vehicles and equipment in a manner that ensures the highest level of care is always possible for patients.  Care for patients using a variety of skills and knowledge specific to the areas of responsibility outlined below.  Success in this position will require excellent written and verbal communication, as well as the ability to interact with members of the general public, patients, other team members, and providers from other agencies in a professional and likeable manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Washington State EMT-P.

  • Current County ALS Provider requirements including ACLS and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS).

  • Pediatric Specific Training (PALS).

  • 1 year experience working as a EMT-P.

  • Valid Washington State Drivers License (WDL).

  • A clean driving record that meets insurability criteria.

  • A background investigation to include former employment & criminal records check.

  • Successful completion of the required physical abilities test.

  • Ability to communicate effectively using proper English in spoken and written form.

  • Ability to convey and understand written and verbal instructions.

  • Ability to safely operate an ambulance during routine and emergent transports after successfully completing a certified Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC).

If you are applying from out of state, please contact your local State Patrol or courthouse for information on how to obtain a criminal background check to submit with your application.

3) DRIVERS ABSTRACT

Employees or applicants under 21 years of age cannot have any moving violations on their driving record. Employees or applicants over 21 cannot have more than one moving violation on their driving record for any 36-month period.
